Moxie Music was formed in the summer of 2024 to give old friends the chance to play fun music together. The general notion is to "keep it funky", and the playlist reflects that aim. See videos of the band below.

Mike Abbott (lead vocals, saxophones, flute, synthesizers) 

Mike not only performs with Moxie Music, but also as a soloist and in several other bands. A former Boston-area studio musician and vocalist, he has played on hundreds of recordings and films. Ex-VP of Powell Flutes, manufacturers of the world’s finest flutes and piccolos, he’s currently Co-Founder and VP of The Real School of Music in MA and NH.

Matt Lucey (lead vocals, guitars) 

Elusive Matt Lucey tops many Maine guitarists' list of heroes. A veteran of many fine bands such as MK Ultra, Jenny Woodman Band and Tilden Katz, Matt's great taste and virtuoso skill is a show in itself.

Michael Wiskey (lead vocals, drums)

Michael is another Maine legend, laying down the grooves for decades in Oat Willy, Andrea Re & Clouds, and the Outerspace Band. His smooth vocals and great range set him apart.

John Kumnick (bass) 

A living legend, John has played with the likes of David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Chuck Berry, Ron Wood, Ben E King, Iggy Pop, Marianne Faithful, Elliot Easton of the Cars, John Waite and many more. We're so glad to have him holding down our groove.
